BadBob was a local artist in New Haven who had a syndicated comic strip (which originally appeard in the alternative weekly The New Haven Advocate) as well as a line of merchandise centered around his character The Screaming Man, much of which I carried in a bookstore I used to own in New Haven in the early 90s.
In addition to his cartooning, Bob is also a musician, painter and lord knows what else. I have not seen or spoken to him in 12 or 13 years and truthfully only knew him casually anyway.
The recording of this show is Bob and a guitar, playing at a now-defunct nightclub in New Haven called Cheri's (the space houses one of the best Indian joints I know). Bob's songwriting, for some reason I can't articulate, reminds me a little of Bob Pollard's.
